What are Grey Arcade products?

Grey Arcade provides Science, Engineering, and History-themed designs on shirts. We also have printed designs on other items, such as mugs.

All shirts are:

  • Fabric weight: 4.5 oz (153 g/m2)

How are the shirts printed?

After we finalized a design, the shirts are printed using the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing. This lets us print precise details on our designs with high quality. Grey Arcades uses Kornit and Brother printers for our shirts.

We use genuine Brother GT-3, water-based pigment inks. GT-3 inks are CPSIA compliant and Oeko-Tex™ certified, which means they are safe to print on clothing, even for children! It also reduces environmental waste.

How are the mugs made?

Mug artwork is inkjet printed, using special dye-sublimation inks and transfer paper. Then, the transfer paper is wrapped around the mug. Heat and pressure is applied to transfer the design from the paper to the mug. Next, the printed dye is mixed with the coating. And voila! The design becomes part of the mug.

What are the care instructions for the shirts?

Grey Arcade shirts can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. Do not use any fabric softeners, nor dry-clean them.

When drying, shirts can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Do not iron the print directly.

What are the care instructions for the mugs?

Our white mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe.

However, Matte black magic mugs should only be hand-washed. They can't be heated inside a microwave, too. They're also prone to scratches, so be extra careful.

My shirt smells like vinegar. Is that a mistake?

When you first unpack your Grey Arcade shirt, you might notice a vinegar-like smell. Don't worry; you won't go around smelling like vinegar when you wear the shirt. All you need to do is wash the shirt. After just one wash, any smell or discoloration will go away.

The smell is from a fixation agent applied during the printing process. The fixation agent (sometimes known as pre-treatment) helps the ink bond with the fabric. It's the chemical that makes sure the printed design stays put and won't flake off the garment.

My shirt has a faint outline. Is this a defect?

The faint outline or white residue is from a fixation agent we use during the printing process. It helps the ink bond with the fabric.

Don't worry; it's not permanent. It'll go away after a quick wash.

Will I be charged customs for my order?

Additional customs and tax fees can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office.

Customs policies vary widely for every country, so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

I want to buy in bulk. Do you have discounts?

Where will my order ship from?

We work with an on-demand order fulfillment company with facilities worldwide!

I've placed my order. How long will it take for me to get it?

It takes Grey Arcade to process and fulfill your orders within 3-7 days. Then, it gets handed off to the US Postal Services for delivery. Shipping is estimated at 1-7 days, depending on your location within the U.S.

Any orders to be shipped outside the U.S. may take up to 20 days.

I live in the U.S. How will my order be shipped?

Your orders will be shipped via the US Postal Service. You can expect your product within 1-7 days, depending on your location. You may track your order using the information on the shipment notification email we sent.

Do you ship outside the U.S.?

Yes, we do! Shipping outside the U.S. can take up to 20 days. You can track your orders via the tracking information in our email notification.

How much do I pay for shipping?

Good news: Shipping within the U.S. is FREE! So, go ahead and buy as many products as you want without worrying about shipping rates!

Meanwhile, for any country outside of the U.S., the shipping fee is at a reduced price. The shipping fee is computed based on the quantity and types of products you ordered. After you input your address, you will be able to see the fee. This is after step 2 (Information) is done.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is processed, you will receive a shipment notification. You will find the tracking information. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours before the status can be shown on the carrier's tracking system.

It's been more than the estimated shipping days, and my order is still not here. Is it lost?

If your order's tracking status has not been updated after 10 days, send us a message at myorder@greyarcade.com. We will contact the shipping carrier for you.

Before getting in touch with us, please help us out by doing the following:

  • Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address.
  • Ask your local post office if they have your package.
  • Stop by your neighbors in case the courier left the package with them.

Please include a screenshot of your tracking information status and order details in the email.

Once we've confirmed that your package is lost, we'll immediately process and ship out a fresh order for you.

My tracking status says the shipment is completed, but it was sent to the wrong address. What now?

If there was a mix up with the shipping, we are sorry! Send us a screenshot of your tracking status and a screenshot of your order details with the correct address at myorder@greyarcade.com. We'll send you a fresh order ASAP.

I’d like to cancel my order. How do I do that?

Grey Arcade does not accept any order cancellations. But, we know there are many reasons why you'd want to cancel. Send us an email at myorder@greyarcade.com.
