One thing that always comes to mind when you think of the city of...

Paris, France: The Eiffel Tower

It was named after Gustave Eiffel, the engineer who designed the tower.

This iconic structure has been constructed for the 1889 World’s Fair and was only intended to last for 20 years. It was saved from being demolished when Eiffel encouraged to use it for scientific experiments. After that, it was used as a radio tower. Then finally, it was declared as a historic landmark for Paris.

The Eiffel Tower stands at 324 meters (1063 ft) tall. It is the tallest structure in Paris and the second-tallest in the entire country of France. After it’s construction in 1889, it became the tallest structure in the world. It held that record for 41 years until the Chrysler Building in New York City was finished in 1930.

The tower has three levels that can be accessed by visitors. The first and second levels house restaurants, while the third level house the highest observation deck open to the public in the European Union. The observation deck is 276 meters (906 ft) above the ground.

Currently, it is the most visited monument in the world, with seven million visitors visiting it every year. A total of around 300 million visitors have witnessed its beauty from its opening in 1889. Many couples spend their honeymoon in Paris and spend a lovely afternoon visiting the Eiffel Tower.
